When I moved into this Apt. building 10 yrs. ago after my divorce, the entry and patio areas were very dirty , so I spent a good chunk of change on 2 garden hoses. I have always let new people know that they are welcome to use them. They do. They wash cars, patio furniture, etc. I cannot leave them out all yr. in this climate, so I take then from my garage around to the back of the building where the spigot is every May and put them away every Nov. This job is not easy any more because I have to hold the hoses above my head in sections so all the water runs out. No one in all this time has offerred to help. There are able-bodied men sitting in front of the TV with the patio blinds open and they just sit and watch me struggle. When I clean the entry, I buy a bottle of cleanser that hooks onto the hose and of course clean the other door that belongs to my upstairs neighbor. I do this 3X a yr. In the time I’ve been here, there have been 7 tenants up there. Not one has ever said thanks. I’m wondering if I need to get gutsy and spread the word that if they all want to use my hoses that somebody will have to take them out and put them away. My shoulders hurt and it will be worse tomorrow.
I am a 60 yr. old female with Fibromyalgia.
Dolphin Grrrll, you said in another answer that you are 11 yrs. old. You are not supposed to be on YA
Mgmt does not do maint. They say it’s not in the budget. They won’t do anything about weeds, etc. but lecture those who don’t do outdoor deco because "it looks like nobody lives here."
Taking it out every time I need it would be that much harder. It’s that I can’t handle the job any more. They know I do it and don’t get paid. If somebody did something like that for me, they would find a gift at their door.
Thank you all for your compassion. Wish I could respond to all.

I am also looking for the patio furniture to be maintenance free and easy to clean.

There is a large colony of cats nearby who rest on all the porches. Some residents are very upset because there are fleas left on the patio furniture. Sure, it could be the wildlife, but they are blaming it on the cats. Is there anything I can recommend that they do/use to control this flea problem? I would like to help everyone involved.

Where do I start, we just moved and we live in a duplex that has one above it. There are 3 kids that live there (mother leaves them alone all day) they stomp around and scream all day and ring my doorbell and they are just always noticeable. I have a newborn baby… they are in my garden tromping my flowers leaving trash on my patio furniture, messing with our stuff, harrassing my dog. I’ve asked them nicely to just STOP before I kill myself. That of course didnt work because these are devil kids. I addressed my concerns with their mother and she acted like I should just get over it, that there was no problem and that leaving 3 young children alone all day is acceptable. I feel like I’m going to have a nervous breakdown. I just cant hear any more stomping. We pay WAAAY too much to live here to deal with this. Should I call the landlord? I have postpartum depression and a 6 week old child, I feel like I have more than enough to deal with. PLEASE HELP!!!
