I live in a barn in the woods. There are no roaches around, just a lot of spiders. I recently bought a new patio furniture set and left the box in my living room for a week while I waited for my dad to come over and set it up. I had a dead roach at the end of the week in my living room, killed by my cat. Then last night, I had a roach crawling on my head while I was in bed. How do I get rid of them? I’m grossed out! It was trying to crawl into my ear. I’ve moved all of my furniture, but haven’t seen any anywhere. I know that it is still there because I wasn’t able to kill it, I was freaking out too much at the moment. I’m not infested with them, but I know I have at least one and fear it may lay eggs…How do i kill it and make sure it’s dead and I wont get anymore?
And why was it in my bed! i thought they only went around food. My house is spotless.. I have no clutter, no boxes, no dirt, and no food left around. I am a real neat freak! I don’t eat in bed. I can’t figure out why it was in my bed…
I looked up the different species.. Itmis an American roach… It had to come from the furniture box. How do I get rid of it. I’ve torn up every inch of my housevand can’t find it. I know its there and want to make sure there aren’t more!!

We have been having issues with our neighbors below us ever since they moved in over a year ago. Every night we can hear their tv over ours. We can hear the wife screaming and yelling at the husband on a daily basis. We can hear every door they slam, and when they put away the dishes. We can hear everything! This isn’t really the problem though…the problem is that every time they hear a noise from us, they call the police or the apartment manager on us! I have a 3 year old daughter and a 6 month old puppy. I am a stay at home mom and I’m pretty sure the lady downstairs doesn’t work either. So when my daughter runs around during the day or even if the dog walks from the living room back to the bedrooms, the lady downstairs freaks out and calls on us. We were having an issue with our dog barking for hours while we were gone. When we first got the dog, we asked them downstairs to please let us know if they can hear her. Well they never let us know. They started calling the cops and the apartment on us 10x a day on the dog. If they had just come to us first, the problem could have been fixed. We have her barking under control now, I try my best to be as quiet as possible during the day, and yet she still finds reasons to complain. Now she’s making up lies saying that I don’t clean up my dog’s poop outside-which is completely untrue, because before we got the dog I was always upset that there was always dog poop from other dogs in the yard and my daughter couldnt play out there. I wouldn’t do that. She also said that we let our dog deficate and urinate on her patio furniture…??? NO!!! Never happened, our dog has never been on their patio, or even on the balcony above theirs. We contacted the office because I am not going to tolerate someone lying about us. The apartment seems to want to just stay out of it. How can I work this out with her? We tried to go down and talk to her about it, but she wouldn’t answer her door. Any advice? I feel like since we tolerate all the noises they make, they should tolerate ours. It’s not as if we have parties, or our music or tv up (like they do)…What’s their deal?!

I moved in with him 3 months ago, beautiful home, and am dying to decorate. Nothing crazy, just some basics – dining room table, outdoor patio set, desk, etc. But every time I bring this up he reminds me that he just bought a new bedroom set and living room set for us and that it was really expensive. Then he reminds me that he bought our house along with our place in the mountains. This is all true, but it doesn’t mean we no longer need a dining room table. We’re in our 30s… it’s reasonable to want a dining room table so we can have guests over.
So today I decided to jump on looking at the furniture on my own and found some stuff I loved at Crate & Barrel. When I sent him the links he got all funky about it and said it was really expensive. So then I went to Cost Plus which is WAY cheaper and still he was acting like I was asking him to buy me a Porsche or something. So I offered to pay for these things, but he said he doesn’t feel comfortable with that since I make so much less $ than him.
So what should I do? Every time I bring this up he gets in a bad mood.
