Let me start off by saying I want to be a good neighbor but at what point do I say… Look we live in an apt and I pay to live here too!
Okay let me start by saying I am a very "neighborly person" to the point where I have neighbors asking me left and right for help. I also have the only man (my boyfriend) in the entire apartment complex living with me… so we constantly are getting requests to jump neighbors cars, light their heaters, reach things and fix small things. I would also like to say that I even spent about 175 bucks cleaning up a crappy area with patio furniture, a BBQ and gardened my butt off to make it look nice and offered to let the neighbors use the area. (And they have and do, even asking for charcoal to use our BBQ) And I had a BBQ and supplied the hot dogs and hamburgers and beer for 15 people in order to get to know them.
But the neighbor below us after all this I feel has worn out my generosity. I believe the trouble started when she once asked my bf to check her apt, since she thought someone might be in there, and she left her front door open. I believe that was an absurd request. And I actually called her and told her that wasn’t acceptable to me.. Let me give you some background information… We live in a very quiet town and the police station is less than 100 yards away from our apartment. I didn’t understand why she would ask my boyfriend. And not to mention the fact that I have a father in the military (has been my entire life) he has been shot 2x and I didn’t like the way it made me feel worrying about my boyfriend’s safety. So I politely explained this to her. She said she understood and we moved on.
Then the very next weekend while I was cleaning on Sunday morning at approximately 9 am I got a nasty message asking if I could please refrain from banging around and making loud noise until she wanted to get up at 10am on Sunday… I was a bit taken back by this. I did run the vacuum but not until well after 9 and I was playing some music (only from my laptop so it didn’t think it was that loud). It is quite bothersome since I have a very limited amount of time to clean. I work and go to school. I texted her back and said that I was sorry to have disturbed her… and I would try and be more quiet and put on headphones to clean. I got nothing back.
Then I wanted to start working out… I can’t afford a gym membership so I got off work and finished homework at 7pm. Then I started working out. And this morning another nasty message how I am a disturbance. I am kinda wondering if I have to live my life under these rules. Can’t make any noise before ten or after 7… actually she made it clear working out was not acceptable ever. But I can’t find another place or time. I understand respecting others but when are my wishes to be respect. Help.
No there is no work out room unfortunately. I am a bit perplexed by how I started this? I have overextended myself in just about every way.

We moved in and got a dog, we ask the mantience man who is the father of the landlord if we can have a dog and said yes. There was also a lot of other ppl who had dogs, even the lady that lived in our apartment had cats because our baby room smells like cat pee. So we got a small dog who is the sweetest dog, doesnt pee in the house or bark and wake ppl up. No after some stuff we got new landlords, we have had like 4. The latest one just gave everyone a not saying we had to get ride of a dog or be evicted. Were trying to obey the rules even we thinks it was unfair, but now she is makeing up all these stupid rules one which is no patio furniture or grills, and we just bought a grill. Can she do this or not.

My wife and I both moved into an apartment that was never fixed up or renovated. There was a iron burn in the carpet from the previous tenants. Fast forward to a year later, our rental office said that we had until November 30th until our lease was up. We moved out by mid November but slowly moved our items out being we had until Nov. 30th to officially move. When I went to my apartment on Nov. 26th to pick up the last of my furniture (patio furniture) it was gone. I called the rental office and they said that they saw no one was in the apartment and they threw the items out which totaled about 0.00. When I asked for reimbursement the lady said NO WAY, those items don’t cost that much. So I’m waiting for my bank statements to come in to prove the value of the items. They also want to take the cost of the iron mark from our security. We knew the previous tenants personally and we know for a fact that they were responsible for damages. Do I have a good case here? What proof do I need? If this went to court what could I sue for?
Facts:
We moved in a 1 day after the previous tenants moved out.
We rented the apt through a private contracter who worked for the property managers but never walked us through the apt to go over any damages
The previous tenants still live in the development and we still have contact with them

I live on a military base, and have so for over two years now. Everything has always been perfect until a few months ago when I got all new neighbors. A friend that I have known for years moved in next door, and a few people as well. The girl that I have known is not the most organized. She has three children along with my other neighbor and they have destroyed the outside area. Their children ruined my patio furniture by ripping off the fabric, and my friend throws her cigarette butts all over in the grass…it’s gross. Now I also have people above me who are heavily smoking inside and it’s making my apartment smell like smoke, and I have a brand new baby. I hate this because I like to keep to myself, and I don’t want to complain. However, I just don’t think it’s fair that I should live in a place that is this nasty. Plus, the girl that i have known lets her kids run outside without watching them so I can never just go outside with my dogs or baby and relax…she literally keeps her back door open so her kids can run freely outside whenever they want (i caught one of her sons flooding the back patio with my hose the other night)..
What should I do?
*Also, there is new housing in the process of being built but even if I move there I will most likely have the same neighbors.
How do I complain in a good way? I don’t want to be annoying..I want to be taken seriously.
Don’t feel like moving just because we have waiting now for 2 years for this new housing,and I would hate to just let that go.

They installed a new roof on my apartment building this week. In the process they destroyed my patio furniture and my sons bike with dirt falling from the roof onto my patio. Couldn’t they have put up something to avoid that from happening. None the less I cleaned it all up. The next day it was the same so I figured I would have to wait till they were fully done to get my patio livable again. Today when I got home I noticed that in my kitchen where I have a brand new glass top stove they destroyed my stove with rocks and black dust that was seemingly falling down the vent pipe from the roof. Again shouldn’t they have put something up to prevent this? I went into both of my bathrooms which also have vents connected to the roof and they are the same. They are covered in rocks and black dust.
My question is what should I do? I rent here and I know my manager who thinks he owns the building and makes up his own rules isn’t going to do anything much about it. Is it legal for them to get my house filthy and my patio ruined because they were putting up a new roof? I did everything in my power to avoid this. I closed all of my windows 24 hours a day even in this heat. I parked my car across the street so it wouldn’t get dirty from it and yet they have gotten my kitchen, patio, and 2 bathrooms totally dirty to the point where I am going to have to move my stove to clean etc. And even when I clean it there is still black stuff in the cracks on the new stove making it look dirty. Please help. I believe they should clean this mess.
